Disclaimer
The Committee on Specific Commitments, in its third meeting held on 7 July 1997, decided that the electronic version of the schedules would have no legal validity (S/CSC/M/3, dated 7 July 1997, paragraphs 33-35). This was confirmed in its annual report to the Council for Trade in Services (S/CSC/2, dated 26 November 1997, paragraph 3) and then endorsed by the Council for Trade in Services (S/C/M/21, dated 12 January 1998, paragraphs 4-6). This implies in particular that the aggregation done by the Secretariat under its own responsibility, although verified by Members, has no legal value. Only the treaty copies are authentic and in case of dispute settlement they would be the basis on which a panel would assess the scope, the extent and the dates of the commitments.

Services Sectoral Classification List
The secretariat indicated in its informal note containing the draft classification list (24 May 1991) that it would prepare a revised version based on comments from participants. The attached list incorporates, to the extent possible, such comments. It could, of course, be subject to further modification in the light of developments in the services negotiations and ongoing work elsewhere.

European Communities
|
|
|
|
In this database, the schedule of specific commitments of the European Communities
covers the commitments of the 12 original Members States1, except for commitments
in the sectors of telecommunication and financial services, as well as for mode
4, which cover 15 Member States (i.e., the original 12 plus Sweden, Finland and
Austria).
Please note that the European Communities certified in 2006 a new schedule of commitments that covers
25 Member States2.
However, this new schedule of commitments had not yet entered
into force at the time of establishing this database and is therefore not included
into the searchable database of commitments. This consolidated schedule can be accessed
through the heading "consolidated schedules". Its document series is S/C/W/273. |
|
|
The database contains all Members specific and MFN exemptions up to January 2008.
